Cheltenham Jazz Festival ...around town programme is back and applications to take part in an internationally renowned jazz festival are now open!

We're searching for jazz musicians to participate in events all over the town as part of Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2027 (28 April - 3 May). With a range of opportunities from pop-up acoustic performances to formal stages, we're looking for singer-songwriters, to full blown bands, from dancers and street performers to electronic artists and DJs.

The ...around town programme, delivered in association with Cheltenham BID, is a fringe-esque extension of the Festival's ticketed programme, that aims to fill the town centre with free music and give musicians a chance to shine. In 2026, more than 80 performances took place across the town. 

Participating in the ...around town programme is a fantastic platform to showcase your work and a great way to get yourself noticed – jazz artists, agents and promoters are around all day, taking in the jazz vibe over the Festival period.

How to apply for Cheltenham Jazz Festival …around town 2027:

In order to apply, please complete the application form below. If successful, we will be in touch to confirm your slot in between November 2026- Jan 2027. Due to the influx of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to every application. If you have not heard by the end of January, unfortunately your application was not successful in this instance.

We host gigs in a wide ranges of places and spaces. Some of which may have a full gig set-up (eg. power & sound equipment), others may be a fully unplugged/acoustic gig on a street corner/ in a shop with no access to sound equipment or power.

Promotional Pop-up Interest
The weekend before the festival, we sometimes put on pop-up concerts in the town to help promote that the festival is coming. Although not during the live festival, we treat these shows as the same level as the fringe and bring good crowds for the events.
